The UK advertising giant is now advertising services for streaming video on its YouTube and AdMob platforms.
Advertiser-specific ads will now appear on YouTube and the AdMob platform in a variety of video formats, including VOD, a “new and expanded video service” available on Google Play, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
YouTube has traditionally offered only YouTube-style video ads.
YouTube said it will “work with partners to make more ads for YouTube” on its new streaming services.
It added that the service “features a variety from YouTube’s content creators, from YouTube videos to live sports, music and more.”
The streaming service is expected to be launched later this year.
Google said it was working on new video ad formats.
“We’ve been looking at ways to build on YouTube’s success,” the company added.
The company said it has received a “significant amount of feedback” from advertisers on how to improve the new ads, and is “currently finalising the platform design and layout”. “
Streaming video has never been faster, cheaper or more effective.”
The company said it has received a “significant amount of feedback” from advertisers on how to improve the new ads, and is “currently finalising the platform design and layout”.
Google said “it is working on a variety new ad formats for YouTube, including video, video ads, interactive, video as a service and ad networks.”
“Advertisers will be able to select their video content from a range of video ad networks, including YouTube, AdMob and AdWords,” it added.
The company has been working on its own ad formats since 2015.
In 2016, Google launched YouTube VOD and AdHomerax in partnership with major video ad network, LiveAds.
Google VOD is designed for the “big four” ad networks — Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and Apple.
It allows advertisers to deliver videos with “greater interactivity” and “a more natural user experience”.
The service also offers advertisers “the ability to target audiences in a more personalized way”.
The company previously said it would offer AdHormax for the next few months.
The new streaming video advertising format will be available “as an extension to YouTube’s existing advertising product, as well as with new content that Google is developing,” Google said.
“It’s expected to launch with a variety for advertisers to discover, including ad networks such as AdSense and ad network partners like YouTube.”
The new ad format will not be available for YouTube in Australia and New Zealand, Google said, and “will be available to other partners in the coming weeks”.
